Every installation project is different. The most common is to replace an existing lawn with artificial grass but each project has its own unique challenges. Quality Materials

All materials used for the artificial grass installation contribute towards the overall quality. For example, you need a high quality adhesive to seam the lawn together. If you are installing on a slope, you need a good base layer (such as landscaping foam) to avoid slippage. If you are installing play equipment on the lawn, you need a high quality shock pad to meet critical fall height requirements. Water drainage is also an important consideration.

Level Surface

You lawn needs to be level. To achieve this, the surface on which the artificial turf is laid needs to be level. This is achieved by applying sand to the area and then using a compactor so the surface is perfectly flat before installation. This can be checked using a spirit level. If the process is not done properly, you will have bumps in your lawn or worse still, there could be creases in the artificial grass carpet.

Artificial grass installation is an art. This is because every installation is different so experience and creativity make a big difference. Seamless Finish

If you lawn is more than 4 metres wide, the artificial grass will need to be seamed together. If these seams are not made perfectly, they will be visible and the visual appearance of your lawn will be poor. This is the most common mistake for installations by DIY enthusiasts and inexperienced landscapers. It can happen if the glue is not applied correctly or if each piece of artificial grass is not positioned accurately.

Lawn Edge Finish

The edge of your artificial lawn should be secure and aesthetically pleasing.

To achieve a secure lawn edge, our fitters will often use artificial grass fixing pins. The pins are used around the lawn perimeter to ensure the artificial grass does not become loose over time due to natural ground movement or intensive wear from dogs and ball games.

To achieve an aesthetically pleasing lawn edge, you need to ensure the artificial grass is perfectly touching the border. This is achieved with accurate measurements and skilled cutting. If there is a gap between your garden border and the lawn, it can look poor. Our fitters will always give you a superb lawn edge finish.
